We are so thankful that we can add to our family through the heroic love of another.

It has been awhile since I posted anything here on our baby journey. We have not been resting nor have we not been practicing. You see, since our last post, we have been wading through paperwork, home studies, and meetings. Answering many questions not only asked by a social worker but asking of ourselves as well. We started the adoption process in the beginning of October. The home study visits were all completed just prior to Christmas. Then it was wait, wait, wait until our Social worker wrote it all up and submitted it. Then it was hurry up get the e-profile and scrapbooks completed for the birth moms to look through. Then wait some more for the state to approve our home study process and paperwork. On Feb 13, 2014, we got the email we were officially approved. The paperwork arrived in the mail the next day to make it official! Now we are ready to be matched with a birth mom. One who is currently pregnant and working with our adoption agency to find their unborn child a forever family. Our profile is now live and our photo books are in circulation.

Please keep all fingers, toes, and eyes crossed and continue to say prayers for us so that we may be matched with the child we have the blessing to love forever.  We thank you for all your assistance in the past and what you are doing to help us achieve our goal. Without your prayers and positive energy, we would not be in the position we are now. We could get a call at anytime and be told we have been matched or it could be weeks, months, or years. Since we don't have the luxury of planning for 8 months, some of our girlfriends are planning a shower for us and Baby St. Peter so we can get basics under our belt and ready to bring our little one home.  (It also will get us to the hospital faster without a stop at an all night Walmart! Ha!) So, if you want an invitation to the shower and haven’t received one yet, send me an email and I will get you all the details! Love to you all!

Hey diddle diddle,
We’re expecting someone little,
And they’re only a heartbeat away
It’s getting closer by the hour so we’re planning a shower
It’s going to be quite a day!

Blast from the past: Pizzaburgers!

Tonight I brought back the old high school favorite lunch meal, pizzaburgers...

1/2 Pound of Spam -Grated
1 Pound of Ground Beef - Browned and Drained
3 Tablespoons of Italian Seasonings
7oz of cheese - Shredded
16oz of Spaghetti Sauce

Mix all ingredients together until well combined

We then spread the mixture thickly onto hamburger buns (you can use any kind of thick sliced bread)

Bake at 400 degrees for about 13 - 16 minutes.

Let cool before enjoying so as not to burn your tongue or fingers!
